2/23/2013 “PERSEVERANCE OR… PR”

Ladies and Gentlemen welcome back.

Thank you for reading and hopefully you enjoy what me and Brad are doing. Todays lesson is about perseverance. I LOVE the definition of this word and I LOVE that you can make the abbreviation of it PR (BOomshakalaka!!). Here is the first, “steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success”. Despite of difficulty… delay in success… but beside all of this you keep going! You keep going to achieve success, glory, PRs!!! You know when you see someone with perseverance they dont stop! cant stop! This is were champions are made.

You can not give up just because there is a delay in success! keep pushing!

Yesterday was max out friday. A glorious day of hopeful PRs or at least PR attempts. It is something that gets me through every week of waking up early, running back and forth, juggling school, work, and internships. I expect to get a PR EVERYTIME! but just like the definition of perseverance states sometimes there is a delay in success. AND MAN DOES IT INFURIATE ME, but what do I do! I go harder! the second video I tried four times to jerk that 103KG! but it wouldnt fall for me… well it fell just to the ground haha. I will persevere and hit that weight… on second thought i might just skip it and go to 105kg! GET SOME!!!!!

Mike’s Muscles Rant 2/9/2013 “EFFORT, WANT, PASSION”

What’s up guys! First I would like to say I’m back for good hopefully. I have teamed up with a buddy if mine and his blog, Evolutionary Health Perspective. We also have podcast together which is awesome! He post some really great stuff on nutrition while I probably will stick to some good rants, lifting heavy weights, and slamming bars! But the podcast in my opinion is very informative. I’ll post the links to it all.

Let me start by saying this may get a little crazy! I am jacked up on caffeine and it’s MAX OUT FRIDAY!

So today’s lesson is on EFFORT, WANT!, PASSION! This morning while training some athletes I got real fired up! Like BOOM! Techno was blaring and I was ready to go. We had a circuit going of versa climbers (if you don’t know what that is… good stay far away haha), an ab station, and bikes. Interval times consist of 30,45,60,90 seconds. HOW CAN YOU NOT GO ALL OUT WHEN YOU HAVE TECHNO JAMMING!! Why just go hard when you THINK the coaches are looking… ARE you kidding! get out of here. YOU SANDBAGGING SUNUVAGUN!!! It’s 30 seconds! you can do anything for 30 seconds. AIN’t nothing to it but to do it! That is what I always said!

Listen it’s not about going hard when you have techno blaring… although you should be jacked upppp. It’s about effort, goals, and achieving them. Why do you play a sport if you’re not going to give 100%. Why start to work out if you have no goals. You achieve more if you set goals and accomplish them. If your goals aren’t laughed at by others than they are probably not set high enough!

I played D1 lacrosse. I had tons of injuries and most of them resulted in surgeries, but I had a goal of playing, winning, and being the best. I didn’t half ass it. I was told to do something and I did it and more. I pictured myself as the best! I don’t get people that do something half assed! Why do it at all? Why waste your time when you’re not dedicated to whatever it is you are doing.

Get out there and set goals, go all out, and SLAM BARS!!! Jam techno and get after it!
