Stocking Your Collegiate Paleo Kitchen

Eating Paleo isn’t rocket science, although the physiological effects it has on our body may seem like it. Just follow the “Paleo” Mantra of “Meats, veggies, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, NO Sugar” and you are set.  That being said, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find Paleo friendly food when you are on campus or on the go. My biggest tip for all of you Collegiate Paleoites (I think I just invented a new term there!) is to be prepared. Stock you kitchen with Paleo friendly food, pack your lunches, and avoid the processed junk your university pedals to you.

That being said, I am going to arm you with a powerful tool, a shopping list.  This list isn’t the end all be all, it is meant merely as a guide to get you most of the basics for your kitchen.  It also it is not a doctrine, feel free to omit the things you hate (I know some people hate Brussels sprouts, however I have a great recipe which will turn you into a Brussels Sprouts lover) and add in any other fruits, veggies, nuts, you enjoy and can stick with. Make your trip to the grocery store engaging, try new foods, load up on the meats, veggies, and fruits. See if you can not buy a single boxed good.

In the next week or so I will have a post coming with how to turn these wonderful items into lunches and snacks to keep your body and brain fueled for the rigors of academia! The link below the picture has a downloadable PDF, hope you all are enjoying the blog, and would love to hear your feedback.
